Dr. Lauren Bonner received her medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and graduated with honors. She is double board certified in Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry. She has extensive experience in patient care in the inpatient and outpatient settings. She has provided care to patients in academic, public and private health care sectors. Dr. Bonner has participated in patient centered research in the fields of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Alcohol Use Disorder, Alzheimer’s Disease/Dementia and Schizophrenia. She was the recipient of a grant from the National Institute of Health to research a treatment for agitation in Alzheimer’s Disease. She was chosen to present her research at the International Alzheimer’s Disease Scientific Meeting in Stolkholm, Sweden. She completed her fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She completed the Duke University Medical Center Visiting Fellowship in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. She has written and coauthored a number of journal articles that have been published in peer reviewed journals including Neurology and Academic Psychiatry. She has also coauthored book chapters in publications such as the Medical Clinics of North America and the Textbook of Geriatric Psychiatry. Dr. Bonner’s academic and patient care excellence has been recognized by her election ot the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and her recognition as a Leonard Weisskopf Scholar. Dr. Bonner has extensive experience in the care of patients with Mood Disorders, Trauma Spectrum Disorders such as PTSD, Psychotic Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, ADHD, Alzheimer’s Disease and other Dementias and Women’s Mental Health Issues.
