On Saturday, April 22rd Valley Hospital employees participated in the 13th annual Pat’s Run. The 4.2 mile annual run is held at in Tempe, Arizona and signifies Pat Tillman’s college football number of 42. Pat’s Run is a fund raising event for the Pat Tillman Foundation that has been put on each April since 2005.
On April 19th & 20th Valley Hospital was a sponsor and participated in the 8th Annual Statewide Symposium in Support of Service Members, Veterans and Their Families. Symposium Valley Hospital is also proud to be an Arizona Coalitions Military/Veteran Resource Navigator. Valley Hospital has been trained to connect service members, veterans & family members.
Valley Hospital participated in the sponsorship of the third annual Rally Point Arizona Run and Rally-Up Festival on November 13, 2016. The event has been put on to raise awareness of the tragic and significant issue of veteran suicides. 3 Valley Hospital staff members participated and completed the half-marathon course!
On October 15th, 2016 Valley Hospital employees will be participating in the 12th annual NAMI walk. The NAMI Valley Walk is put on every year to increase awareness in Arizona about mental illness and it’s devastating effects. It brings Arizona’s mental illness community together and raises dollars for NAMI’s outstanding support and education programs. http://www.namivalleywalk.org/
On Friday, September 16th. Valley Hospital participated in the Arizona National Guard’s Suicide Prevention Program’s resource fair and kickball tournament. The goal of the event was to promote suicide prevention and highlight community resources around the state that provide treatment to Service Members, Veterans and family members.
Valley Hospital is Happy to Join the Mental Health Guild in collecting new and gently used household items to furnish 30 new apartments for homeless AZ veterans who suffer from a Serious Mental Illness Victory Place, Phase IV We will be collecting anything & everything to make a house a home.
